Also the major thing is the texture of your chess board. Add some kind of glass effect to it like that pic up there or else the shadow of the chrome set would be pretty much pointless
See in the reference pic, the chess board is clearly made out of glass, so if the chess board is made out of anything like paper (the board which you made looks like paper or something since it doesnt have any special textures), I dont think that that type of shadow would be casted on it
