Looks fine to me.

I didn't want to use a generic guard, they're boring and overused.

Wat.

Generic guards don't add anything to the Samurai's overall design.

Just the weapon.

plus, they're just circles, which is boring.

Update

I would upload like, 5 models but since 3DS Max isn't backwards compatible (And I forgot to export the models as FBX or OBJ) I've only got 1 to show you guys. I made it just now, took about 45 minutes.

I have also uploaded a model that one of my group members made, just to compare the skill level of me and the people in my class. We've been modeling for the same amount of time.
